About the Museum

In the short 20 years since its founding, the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts has hosted some of the city's most memorable art exhibits and events while establishing itself as one of Brooklyn's most unique cultural spaces. The museum's focus on arts, both visual and performance, created by members of the African Diaspora who explore its ongoing impact on their lives and society.


What You Will See

The ongoing impact of the African Diaspora is fertile creative ground for the artists and curates who host their works and exhibitions at MoCADA's vibrant Brooklyn Space. While generally focused on contemporary artistic interpretations of the consequences, exhibits have a board interpretation of what constitutes both Art and members of the Diaspora. Past exhibitions have included works by Dred Scott, Arturo Lindsay, and Terence Nance.
